History

The Castle Letzlingen (then called “Hirschburg”) was build 1560 through 1568 by the Elector Georg von Brandenburg as a hunting castle. It is the only preserved castle of the Hohenzollern royalty in Saxony-Anhalt.

Czar Alexander and Otto von Bismarck were famous visitors in former times.

Surrounded by the castle woods, the castle chapel at its doorstep, in the midst of Colbitz-Letzlinger heath, the castle is located on the outskirts of Magdeburg.
